The AWSA is seeking to recruit an OF2 or OF3, with either Alpine or Nordic winter sport organisational experience, to act as the Secretary of the newly formed AWSA Screening Board. The successful individual will work closely with the Vice Chair AWSA, the Deputy Chair of the Screening Board and Secretary AWSA. Individuals will need to have an understanding of the planning and administration of Army Winter Activity, in particular the production of Business Cases (BC) and the financial process associated with the expenditure of public funds in accordance with Annex A to the AEWAI DIN, 2022DIN10-024.
The position will be conducted as a secondary duty with focused capacity between 2-3 months per year. The successful individual will work within an already established AWSA team and be a member of the AWSA Management Board, working, for the most part, remotely. They will need to be read in and available to start by 1 Sep 22 with time and effort to commit until mid Oct at the earliest. Duties will include receipt and assessment of each Exercise/Corps winter activity BC, interrogation of the data submitted and the extrapolation of anticipated expenditure data into a centralised spreadsheet. Such data will help inform 1* direction and the need for, by exception, F2F Corps screening.
