{"id":19506,"date":"2015-03-13T10:09:03","date_gmt":"2015-03-13T10:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/?p=19506"},"modified":"2022-09-12T10:22:05","modified_gmt":"2022-09-12T10:22:05","slug":"inter-services-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/inter-services-15\/","title":{"rendered":"INTER SERVICES 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the Inter Service Bobsleigh Championships which concluded on Fri 13 Mar 15 in La Plagne.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time in a number of years the Army Male Team took the Team Trophy beating the RAF by over 3 seconds over 4 runs. The RN brought up the rear and were awarded the wooden spoon. The Team Trophy is regarded as the main event.<\/p>\n<p>The Army Team were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LSgt Lamin Deen\/LCpl James Steele<\/li>\n<li>Pte Jonathon Brown\/LCpl Darren Little<\/li>\n<li>Cpl Dan Hawker\/Pte Ricky Wilde<\/li>\n<li>Kgn Matt Lucas\/Pte Daryn Smith<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>LSgt Deen\/LCpl Steele were the Individual Champions<\/p>\n<p>LCpl Steel was awarded the Fastest Brakeman Trophy<\/p>\n<p>Sgt \u201cSmudge\u201d Smith from 3 PARA was awarded the Presidents Trophy for all the work he has done in building up the 3 PARA bobsleigh team with their physical training and the brakeman coaching; there were 2 drivers and 4 brakeman from 3 PARA in the Army Team.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sean Olsson (late PARA) and Mr Steve McFall (late RAF) were the bobsleigh coaches for the 2 weeks and they did a fantastic job of coaching the drivers as La Plagne is a very technical and challenging track.<\/p>\n<p>Great news that LSgt Lamin Deen also placed 5th in the World Championships in Winterberg in the Four Man Bobsleigh\u00a0 in early March.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the Inter Service Bobsleigh Championships which concluded on Fri 13 Mar 15&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":6363,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[100],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19506"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/9"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=19506"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19506\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/6363"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19506"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=19506"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.awsa.org.uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=19506"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
