Major Alan Roynon late RA
It is with deep regret that following illness, we announce the death on 19th January 2025 of Major (Retd) Alan Roynon late RA.
A doyen of Royal Artillery, Army and Inter Service Alpine skiing for many years, Alan first raced for 94 Locating Regiment as Gunner Roynon in 1963. Two years later, LBdr Roynon was awarded his Army Alpine Colours, and re-awarded them every year until 1973. Promoted to WO2 he won his 7th Princess Marina Championship in nine years in 1974. Commissioned into 40 Regt RA he raced for them in 1977, before turning his attention to his military career which ended when, by now a Major, he played a pivotal role in the Inter-Service Alpine events at the 50th Anniversary of the AWSA at St. Moritz in 1997.
