Ex SNOW LION (ExSL18) is the Army UK Foundation snow sports championship and will be an introduction to Alpine Racing for novice racers, Unit B teams and development teams. It takes place in the Cairngorm Mountain Range, Aviemore, Scotland over the period 2-11 March 2018 and Snowboard and Telemark will be run alongside. Entry will open on the 51X MOSS site from mid Nov 17.
ExSL18 is open to all UK Army units. Units are encouraged to enter teams of 4, but individual entries in SB and Telemark will be accepted. Competitors must not have competed at Divisional Level or above before, but are allowed to have competed at Corps championships. The Team Captain may have competed at Divisional Level, but may not have qualified through to Army Championships. These measures will ensure that the event is fair, and the maximum numbers of novice racers can take part, whilst maintaining a base of experience and guidance amongst the Team Captains.

- Develop Unit teams of the future, B Teams, development squads and female teams from units that already have a snow sports presence and introduce those units with no history of competing at snow sports to racing in a controlled environment.
