After the great success and popularity of this year’s Ex RACING ICE 1, the 2017 Army Ice Camp promises to be a larger event than ever before. Regiments and Corps from across the Army will send participants to learn how to pilot a Bobsleigh, Skeleton bobsleigh or Luge Bobsleigh in a professional yet fun environment. The aim of the week is to train and select participants to return to Ex RI 2 in order to race as representatives of their units. Those successful at Ex RI 2 will stand a good chance of being selected to represent the Army at the Inter Service Championships. This is not an opportunity to relax over a few beers. This is a serious training exercise with the sole intent to train and select sportsmen for future events, the AWSA will be looking for quality not quantity.
Exercise Racing Ice I (2017) is the Army Winter Sports Associations’ (AWSA) annual introduction to Ice Sports event. For the purposes of this exercise Ice Sports includes the disciplines of Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton.
