INTRODUCTION TO LUGE
Luge, where the slider lies feet first, is a long established Olympic sport. The Army has two past Olympic representatives.
The sport is still dominated by the old Eastern Block countries. Prospects for Army athletes to compete at the Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010 were high, but the selection standard was even higher! We hope that Sochi 2014 will represent our return to form! Natur luge, where the sled is steered literally through breaks in the forest, is a fast growing variant.
